ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – Two women are facing criminal charges after they allegedly left three vulnerable adults locked in a hot car while shopping in St. Charles County.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Niyah L. Brown and Alexis N. Daggs with three counts each of abuse of an elderly, disabled, or vulnerable person amidst the investigation.
Court documents allege that the three victims were left in a car on August 29 at an undisclosed business parking lot in St. Charles County. Officers responded to a wellness check in the parking lot after a passerby observed the victims in the vehicle.
When police arrived, they found that it was 96 degrees outside and the victims were “profusely sweating.” Despite attempts to open the vehicle, it remained locked. The passerby went into a nearby store and requested an announcement to locate the car’s owner.
Brown and Daggs were both taken into custody on a $50,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victims, as per online Missouri court records.
