St. Louis was well represented in Los Angeles Sunday night as rappers Nelly, Chingy, and K-Kwon, along with St. Lunatics members Murphy Lee, City Spud, Kyjuan, and Slo Down, all gathered on stage to perform together.
The performance took place at the American Music Award’s 50th Anniversary Special in Los Angeles Sunday night and honored the evolution of hip-hop throughout the show’s history.
The reunion was originally announced through a social media post on Saturday. The group performed a medley of different hit songs, like Chingy’s “Right Thurr,” J-Kwon’s “Tipsy,” and Nelly’s hit songs “Air Force Ones,” “Ride Wit Me,” and “Hot In Herre.”
The performance reunited Nelly and the St. Lunatics group once again for the first time since members of the group sued Nelly in September for allegedly denying members of the group credit and royalties from his certified diamond album, “Country Grammar.”
