The O’Fallon native attended Lutheran St. Charles High School, where he registered a .333 average with 19 hits and 19 RBI in 57 at-bats in his senior season for the Cougars. He led the team to a third place finish in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 4 division.
On the mound, Short recorded 62 strikeouts and a 2.13 ERA, while putting up a 4-2 record across 42 ⅔ innings on the year. Short had similar success his junior year, hitting .382 with 21 hits and 13 RBI in 55 at-bats.
The incoming freshman is ranked as one of the top catchers in Missouri’s 2024 class and will make his debut for the Lindenwood University Lions this upcoming spring season.

UMSL excelling on the court approaching the playoffs
The No. 22 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s volleyball team is ranked eighth in the Midwest Region in the second NCAA regional rankings that were released recently.
The top eight teams in the final rankings will earn a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Midwest Region is comprised of teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC).
The Tritons are 17-7 overall, including 6-5 in the GLVC.
The regional rankings help determine the postseason field in the NCAA Division II Tournament and will be updated one last time next Wednesday before the NCAA unveils its field of 64 on Monday, Nov. 25.
The Midwest Region will hand out three automatic bids to conference tournament winners from the GLVC, GLIAC and GMAC. Five teams will earn at-large bids to the tournament.
UMSL concludes the regular season against Southwest Baptist and Drury with both matches being held at the Mark Twain Building.
The Tritons are seeking their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and eighth overall.
