The St. Louis Cardinals have made a strong comeback after being below the .500 mark for several weeks, sealing a series victory against the Cincinnati Reds.
With an impressive run of 12 wins in their last 15 games, the Cardinals have turned their season around. This winning streak followed a seven-game losing streak that had them at a season-low of nine games below .500 on May 11.
In the series finale against the Reds, Matt Carpenter and Andre Pallante were instrumental in the 5-3 victory. Carpenter hit his first home run of the season, breaking a scoreless tie in the third inning, while Pallante, brought up from the minors to fill a rotation spot, delivered six scoreless innings.
Additionally, Nolan Gorman and Masyn Winn had stellar performances at the plate. Gorman drove in two runs with a double and a home run, while Winn extended his hitting streak to 18 games, a remarkable feat for a Cardinals rookie in this century.
With a record of 27-27, the Cardinals have reached the .500 mark for the first time since late-April as they prepare for a three-game series on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies, who hold the best record in the National League at 38-18.
