Partners of the St. Jude Dream Home gathered in Wentzville to celebrate and recognize the efforts put into this year’s home on Wednesday.
Builders, contractors, and sponsors participated in the floor signing event and signed a banner at the celebration.
The home for this year is a 3,100 square-foot house with four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms located in Wentzville.
“Supporting St. Jude is a great opportunity for us,” said Shaw Industries Territory Manager Cody Larson to FOX 2. “We are proud to be able to support such a worthy cause.”
This year, they aim to set a record by selling 16,500 tickets for the giveaway. In the previous year, over $1.5 million was raised through the sale of 16,000 tickets.
“We understand that it costs nearly $2 million a day to keep the hospital open,” Carrie Iddings, the Fischer Homes communications manager, stated. “So, we are happy to contribute in whatever way we can.”
This marks the 15th dream home that Fischer Homes has built in the St. Louis area. Lathon Ferguson from St. Jude mentioned that the dream home program is beneficial for both the community and the St. Jude patients.
“By spending $100 for a chance to win a $600,000 home, it’s a win-win situation as it’s a fun way to support the children and families of St. Jude,” explained Ferguson.
Tickets for the home will go on sale on June 6, with all the proceeds going towards saving lives.
“Finding cures and saving children is not just a slogan, it’s our way of life and what we strive to do,” Ferguson emphasized.
Open house tours for the home will begin next month from July 13 to August 14.
