ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The St. Charles County Police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating a drowning in the Walnut Creek Subdivision early Friday.
First responders went to the Weldon Springs Subdivision in St. Charles at around 9 a.m. Friday, after a report of a drowning. According to police, 44-year-old Darran L. Huston, a man whose family said he had special needs, drowned in a pond near Walnut Hill Court around 8:10 a.m.
Police said Hutson lived around the corner from the lake, and his family was looking for him at the time of the drowning call. Witnesses said they saw him walk into a retention pond and tried to get him to stop. His family told police that Hutson periodically walked to the water.
