ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – Approximately 20,000 senior homeowners in St. Charles County have submitted applications for the senior real estate tax relief program. Seniors who qualify have until Sunday, June 30, to apply for the program online.
Up to 36,000 senior residents in the region may meet the requirements for the program, which halts the real estate property taxes they owe to all taxation jurisdictions within St. Charles County.
In order to be considered for this program, at least one of the homeowners must be 62 years or older as of January 1, 2024, and must provide evidence of identification, property ownership, and tax liability.
To apply, residents can visit the Saint Charles County website and complete the online form.
Applications sent by mail must be postmarked by June 29 or earlier.
Individuals who wish to drop off their applications in person have until the end of business hours on Friday, June 28 at the County Administration Building lobby located at 201 N. Second Street in St. Charles.
