ST. LOUIS – A recent report has named Interstate 44, which runs through St. Louis and the Ozarks in Missouri, as the third-best interstate in the nation for truck drivers.
A research team from the transport company Trucker Path has released rankings of the best and worst interstate routes for truck drivers in the United States. The rankings are based on factors like safety, parking availability, truck stop qualities, and fuel prices.
Interstate 44, which spans more than 600 miles through Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas with St. Louis as the eastern endpoint and Wichita Falls, Texas as the western endpoint, received a score of 92.72 out of 100 from Trucker Path. Popular stops along the interstate include Sullivan, Rolla, Lebanon, Springfield, and Joplin.
Trucker Path compiled the rankings based on user ratings and reviews from their app, which has around 20 million monthly users. According to Chris Oliver, the chief marketing officer for Trucker Path, the report aims to help truck drivers make informed decisions about their routes and loads while providing tools to enhance safety and efficiency.
Interstate 90 and Interstate 5 were the only two interstates that ranked higher than I-44, with Interstate 90 running from Seattle to Boston and Interstate 5 along the U.S. west coast border.
