ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A man from the O’Fallon, Missouri, area is alleged to have confronted a food delivery driver outside his residence and shot the driver.
The incident occurred around 12:25 a.m. on July 7 in the 800 block of Barbara Place.
As per a spokesperson from the St. Charles County Police Department, the delivery driver mistakenly left an order outside Dwayne T. Jones’ home and went back to retrieve the food.
Jones met the driver in the driveway and shot him once in the stomach, according to the police.
Meanwhile, Jones was arrested at the scene. Police mentioned that Jones admitted to shooting the driver initially but refused to answer questions during a formal interview.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Jones with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Jones is currently held in custody without bond due to his previous criminal record. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 17.
