ST. CHARLES, Mo. – An animal shelter in St. Charles is currently experiencing overcrowding with kittens and is organizing an adoption event through Sunday to address this issue.
Jeana Roth, the executive director of Five Acres Animal Shelter, disclosed that they are currently taking care of over 150 kittens at their facility and through their foster network. Consequently, the shelter has decided to stop accepting new kittens temporarily.
FAAS is hosting a Kitten Palooza Adoption event from Thursday to Sunday to rehome at least 50 of their kittens.
“This season has been particularly challenging with a high number of homeless kittens in need,” Roth stated. “We have a waiting list of kittens eagerly waiting to come into our care from community members and partner rescues, but we are unable to meet this demand without finding permanent homes for our current kittens.”
During the Kitten Palooza period, adoption fees will be reduced to $75 for a single kitten and $100 for a pair. Each kitten has been spayed/neutered and is current on their vaccinations.
