ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A wine and spirits warehouse in St. Charles, Missouri, is relocating to the outskirts of Kansas City, resulting in potential job losses for many employees.
Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits of Missouri recently announced the relocation of its St. Charles warehouse to Raymore, Missouri. This move affects over 90 employees who may need to relocate in order to keep their jobs.
In a letter from Southern Glazer’s senior director, Teddra J. Porteos, employees were notified of the relocation and assured that they would be offered positions at the new facility in Raymore. However, the letter acknowledged that the move may not be feasible for all employees, and those unable to transfer will be laid off as of November 1, 2024.
Under the WARN Act, a total of 94 employees will be affected by the relocation, including more than 60 union warehouse workers who will need to decide whether to relocate or face job loss.
