ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Can the real Slim Shady “Show-Me” a new album? Absolutely, coming out on Friday.
Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers III, is preparing to release his 12th studio album titled “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).” Rolling Stone mentioned that this album bids farewell to his alter ego that was introduced in his second studio album, “The Slim Shady LP.”
Despite all the changes, Mathers’ roots are deeply tied to his early childhood in Missouri.
He was born in St. Joseph, which is situated about an hour north of Kansas City, in 1972. During his early years, he lived in various locations in Missouri including Savannah and Kansas City. According to News Press Now, he lived a regular childhood attending public school and grew up in public housing just like other kids in the neighborhood.
While Mathers doesn’t talk much about his time in Missouri after leaving, it remains a significant mystery in St. Joseph, according to News Press Now.
Supported by The Detroit Historical Society, it’s mentioned that Eminem began performing battle raps at clubs with friends at just 14 years old. Shortly after, he formed the group Soul Intent and started releasing songs before becoming a solo artist.
Looking ahead to 2024, many are eagerly anticipating his new album, hinting at the end of an era. “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” includes 19 tracks, with Eminem suggesting listening to it in order.
