ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Republican primary race for Missouri governor is intensifying as election day approaches.
Candidates Jay Ashcroft, Bill Eigel, and Mike Kehoe are making their final appeals to voters before the polls open.
Eigel and Kehoe campaigned in St. Charles County, while Jay Ashcroft wrapped up his campaign in Springfield.
“St. Charles County is crucial in Republican primaries,” Mike Kehoe stated. “We have dedicated a lot of time here.”
Eigel met with supporters at the St. Charles Republican headquarters.
“I believe the outcome will not be determined by one particular group,” Eigel said. “I anticipate strong support across the state.”
Kehoe’s rally attracted firefighters and police officers, a key group of Missouri voters who have endorsed him.
Many of Eigel’s supporters sported “Real Women for Eigel” t-shirts, including Sandie Hea.
“I wholeheartedly support Bill Eigel for Governor,” Hea expressed. “I am eager to see the changes he will bring to office.”
Each candidate took the opportunity to criticize their opponents one last time in front of the cameras.
“I have a proven track record of implementing conservative policies,” Ashcroft stated. “I don’t just talk about it, I get things done.”
“My opponents lack solutions to move Missouri forward. I do, and I am ready to lead,” Kehoe asserted.
“I am very optimistic,” Eigel declared. “Our campaign has more momentum and support than both of our rivals combined.”
