JEFFERSON CITY — Governor Mike Parson announced the appointment of three new judges for the circuit covering St. Charles County on Friday.
William M. Byrnes from Wentzville, the owner of Byrnes Law Firm in St. Charles, will be appointed as an associate circuit judge to replace Matt Thornhill. Thornhill is running unopposed for circuit judge on Nov. 5.
Byrnes obtained his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan in 1999, as stated on his law firm’s website.
Byrnes is married to Rep. Tricia Byrnes, R-Wentzville.
Denise L. Childress from St. Charles will also join the bench as the associate judge, replacing Judge Dwayne Johnson who is also running unopposed for circuit judge this year, according to Parson.

Childress, owner of Childress Law LLC in St. Charles, graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 2012, as mentioned on her website.
Parson appointed Peter A. Lassiter from New Melle, the owner of St. Thomas Legal, as the associate circuit judge to replace Erin S. Burlison who was appointed circuit judge, according to a news release.
Lassiter graduated from the University of Missouri Law School in 2005, as indicated on his law firm’s website.
