ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The nostalgia factor helps some restaurants turn a simple meal into a treasured trip down memory lane. Food writers say one St. Louis County restaurant really stands out for this.
A research team from LoveFood.com recently compiled a list of the “best retro diner in every state.” Their choices were based on reviews, awards, and accolades, in addition to the first-hand experience of their food-writing team.
According to LoveFood.com, the best retro diner in Missouri is none other than Chuck-A-Burger in St. John, Missouri.
The Chuck-A-Burger Drive-In Restaurant is located at 9025 St. Charles Rock Road. The restaurant’s origins date back to the 1950s.
“We are St. Louis’ last remaining original drive-in diner featuring full time curb service,” says Chuck-A-Burger on its Facebook page.
Chuck-A-Burger specializes in cooked-to-order burgers that customers can stack with several toppings. French fries, onion rings, chili, and hot dogs are also commonly-ordered items. Occasionally, vintage car shows are also part of the experience.
