Heavy rainfall overnight and into Tuesday afternoon has caused flash flooding in the St. Louis metro area, leading to lane closures on interstates and ramps. Missouri Department of Transportation has taken action to address the situation.
MoDOT has closed the inside lane of both eastbound and westbound Interstate 270 at North Florissant Road due to flooding. This closure is expected to remain in effect until early Wednesday morning.
All eastbound I-70 ramps in O’Fallon, Missouri, have also been shut down until further notice.
Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes or avoid traveling until the heavy rain subsides and floodwaters recede.
