DR. RACHEL LECKRONE
Fort Zumwalt School District welcomes Dr Racheal Leckrone as the new principal at Progress South Elementary School, effective this month.
Dr. Leckrone has served as an elementary school administrator with the Bethalto Community School District #8 in Illinois since 2018.
“I am focused on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the history, belief systems, and
learning culture,” Dr. Leckrone says about her first year at Progress South. “And learning the
traditions, systemic processes, and instructional frameworks at Progress South. But, I am most
excited about getting to know the faculty, staff, students, and families”
She was able to meet with staff during the last week of the school year.
When she’s not at school, she enjoys spending time with two children, who attend college nearby, catching a Cardinals game, traveling and fishing, which she has enjoyed since she was young.
“When I was a kid, I spent my summers playing softball and fishing,” she says.
Dr. Leckrone assumed her new role July 1.
