Restaurant traditions are common among families across the country, whether it’s a regular spot for birthdays, Sunday brunches, or Friday night dinners at a local pizza place.
While some diners stick to their favorite restaurants, others seek new experiences. According to Stacey Kinkaid, VP of product development at US Foods, diners are looking for unique flavors that provide a break from their daily routines and excite their palates. The trend of global flavors reflects this desire for discovery and escape from the ordinary.
A survey conducted by US Foods, a leading food service distributor, found that the average person dines out about three times a month for various reasons, such as socializing, enjoying the atmosphere, celebrating, or avoiding cooking and cleanup.
When it comes to restaurant preferences, casual dining is the top choice for 62% of respondents, followed by fast food (57%), fast casual (54%), contemporary casual (32%), and bar and grills (25%).
