Much of what we know about Tyrannosaurus rex, the largest and fiercest dinosaur of them all, we know from the skeleton of a dinosaur nicknamed SUE.
SUE’s bones were discovered in 1990 near Faith, South Dakota, by a fossil hunter named Sue Hendrickson. The bones make up the largest and most complete skeleton by far of a T. rex known in the world, of the 30 that have been discovered.
SUE has been on display at the Field Museum in Chicago since 2000. But an exact replica made of epoxy, steel and foam tours the country.
Beginning Saturday and running through early September, “SUE: The T. rex Experience” will be at the St. Louis Science Center, providing an up-close look at the amazing paleontological find.
